Visual artist Erika Vermeer works from her studio in Amerongen, where she creates realistic still life and portrait oil paintings. In addition to her painting, Erika cares deeply about our humanity and publishes regular articles on this subject.

Her mission is to portray people who fully embrace life, in freedom and surrender. For Erika a portrait is not just an image of a person – it represents a deeper truth, the deeper meaning of being human. Her images are meant to be a reflection of our changing society, with her subjects becoming aware and attuned to where they are in their lives in the moment she captures them in oil. Her desire is to enrich the world with a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.
